Establishment: KEATS was founded on December 1, 2014, by a group of alumni from the Engineering College in Kakinada. D.V. Giridhar was appointed as the Settlor and Chairman, with M.V. Narasimharao as Vice Chairman, and Y.S. Subrahmanyam as Managing Trustee. Col. G. Ravikumar and G. Apparao were also founding members of the Executive Trust Board. Inspiration for this initiative is Krishnamohan Rao Mullapude
Expansion of the Executive Committee: The remaining members of the Executive Committee were subsequently elected to support the vision and mission of the organization.
Mission Focus: The core objectives of KEATS revolve around Education, Empowerment, and Environment. These pillars guide the trust’s initiatives and programs.
Legal and Financial Approvals: KEATS successfully secured 80G and 12AA registrations, providing tax exemptions to donors. After the mandatory standing period, KEATS obtained FCRA registration, allowing it to receive foreign contributions, along with MCA (CSR-1) registration, qualifying it for CSR grants.
Steady Growth: Starting with a modest membership base, KEATS gradually expanded its funding and activities to support its objectives. Its growth trajectory reflects a balanced approach, ensuring sustainable development.
Key Milestones – Women Empowerment Center and Skill Development Center: In 2021, KEATS established a permanent Women Empowerment Center and a Skill Development Center—a residential facility aimed at empowering economically disadvantaged women and skilling unemployed rural youth. These centers work to provide training and create pathways to employment.
Empowering Women: Currently, the Women Empowerment Center has empowered 10 rural women, with a target of reaching 30 as it progresses toward self-sustainability. KEATS aims to replicate this model to establish similar centers in other areas.
Skill Development Success: Within two years of launching the Skill Development Center, KEATS successfully trained 170 participants, helping them secure employment and start careers in various industries.
