Over a period of its long innings, every Institution of repute fosters a sub-cultural milieu unique for itself. Pupils with diverse backgrounds converge on such academic portals, stay there for considerable time, imbibe high octane academics, acquire invaluable peer networks, and above all, learn the skills to lead a purposeful life.
JNTU College of Engineering, Kakinada is one such marquee academic portal that honed the professional nuances of thousands of students and embossed its distinct sub-cultural signature on every one that made this eminent institution his/her academic sojourn. As a result, each alumnus of this august alma mater is an epitome of vibrancy, transparency and empathy and is driven by social responsibility. Such drive, a common denominator among all the ECKites, inspired them to form an NGO christened KEATS (Kakinada Engineering Alumni Trust for Service).
While the prime movers of such noble initiative are the alumni of ECK belonging to the Class of 1977 through 81, every alumnus of ECK and other ‘Pay back artistes’ among the general public are welcome to join this endeavour aimed at scripting an equitable society.
Every Public Institution’s uniqueness lies in its DNA. It’s the reason for its existence-something that cannot be changed without changing the very structure of everything that the Institution represents. Given such broader implication of the DNA of an organisation, the DNA of KEATS would be: “Sense of Camaraderie, Critical Understanding, and Sense of Purpose”. It’s how the torchbearers of KEATS would like to convey themselves to the posterity.
KEATS would evolve into a nationally reputed NGO by 2030 by generating scalable models in education, environment and empowerment of vulnerable sections so that every person lives with dignity.
KEATS resolves to work relentlessly in creating livelihoods, promoting access to quality education and developing a healthy environment among vulnerable sections of society by evolving scalable models acting as light houses.
