Bombai Tanda is a tribal village near Yellandu. An anganwadi is also in the same campus. After a visit, their requirements were assessed and assistance given in the form of – providing benches, books, plates/glasses, water motor and fans; renovating the buildings and toilets; repairing borewell and the main gate. An inaugural function of the facilities created at the school and anganwadis was held on 20th Feb’17.
During the interaction with the villagers there was a request for construction of toilets for all houses. It was decided to provide individual toilets to 114 approved beneficiaries in the first phase by funding the gap between the actual amount and that sanctioned by the government. This was completed in Oct’17. The remaining 100 were taken up in the second phase and completed by Sept’18. The project envisaging to make the village “ODF” costed over Rs 30 lakhs.
The village was declared ODF by Sri G H P Raju, IG – CRPF, Southern Command at a function on 9th March, 2019 in the presence of Md Jaffar Khan, MPDO, Illendu amidst traditional welcome and fanfare by the tribals.
