With a prior appointment, KEATS team met Dr MHM Krishna Prasad, Principal, University College of Engineering, Kakinada and other HoDs. The team comprised Chairman D Giridhar, Vice-chairman PV Rao, Managing Trustee YS Subrahmanyam and Executive Trustees G Apparao and K Ramesh.
Dr I Santhiprabha, former Rector of JNTUK, was also present.

The agenda was to provide scholarships to the most economically backward students of the college coinciding with its platinum jubilee celebrations in July. Fruitful discussions were held to initiate the program with the support of the college in selection of the students. KEATS would also look into other suggestions by HoDs such as summer internships and motivational lectures.

Dr Jayadev Vellanki, President – KEATS USA, Prof Vijayalakshmi Atluri, Mr Ramakrishna Sanapala, Mr Ramesh Narayana Emani, Prof Venkatarao Mulpuri, Col Ravikumar Guduru and Mrs. Nirmala Gondi pledged together donation of Rs 5,00,000 annually for the program. This will be an inspiration for others to follow suit. So to start with, it will be beneficial to a minimum of 25 students and the number is likely to increase in later years.
