SUCCOUR TO UNEMPLOYED YOUTH

City Central Library at Chikkadapally, Hyderabad is the hub where hundreds of unemployed youth prepare for competitive exams in the Government sector – such as Group I and II conducted by Telangana State Public Service Commission. The majority of them are from lower income groups who find it tough to manage both time and money. KEATS pitched in to support them and after discussing with the authorities decided to provide dinner free of cost. The initial plan was to cater to about 200 students for 3 months. The program was formally launched on 10th May by Sri Mahesh P Bhagwat, IPS, Addl DGP – CID.

The initiative received instant support from philanthropists, KEATS, KEATS US members and other NGOs.The attendance and need was reviewed and the free meal program was extended to nearly 400 candidates. The duration was also extended to four months.

Managing Trustee Mr YS Subrahmanyam has been monitoring the food distribution regularly along with with Smt Usha.
